The other day I posted a picture in my Style Society Society Facebook Group, showing one of my fave pairs of shoes and talking about how happy they make me feel.
Heart embellished, pink suede, open toed, with an “easy to manage” respectable heel height.
These are seriously HAPPY shoes!
And it got me to thinking how often I turn to clothing to boost my mood.
What about you?
I personally think everyone should have pieces of clothing (and by “clothing” I mean clothes, accessories, shoes, etc.) that make them just a little bit giddy – items that make you smile, put a little spring in your step, and you’re excited to wear.
And if you don’t have any, you need some…STAT!
Not sure where to start?
No, worries…I’ve got an idea for you!
I started thinking about “happiness inducing” pieces and the one item that instantly came to mind and that could work for everyone…
A classic print (that is never out of style), polka dots are just FUN!
So, I thought I’d put together a few outfit combinations using polka dots to get your creative juices flowing and give you some inspiration to try this fun print.
Tip #1 : Pair colourful polka dots with other neutrals like denim, white, or a soft grey.
Then add in a contrasting coloured shoe and accessories to up the fun factor!
Tip #2: Go for a neutral coloured polka dot piece and pair it with another print or pattern in a similar colour palette (with one added “pop” of colour of course!) to get creative with your polka dots.
Super stylish but super easy!
Tip #3: When in doubt, do your dots in your footwear and build the rest of your look around your shoes.
Keep it all within the same colour palette or take it up a notch (but be prepared to get noticed!) with a contrasting colour like a pink, orange, or purple.
This is some seriously smile inducing style!
So, are you ready to get your smile on with some “happy style” and some polka dots?
If polka dots aren’t for you, what would make you giddy with excitement to wear?
Come on over and share it with me in my Style Society Facebook Group.
Or just come on over to see what everyone else is doing to get their style on!
It’s a private group so you do have to request to join, but it’s totally free!
Looking forward to seeing you there…
