It’s getting chilly out there which means it’s time for one of my fave styling methods – layering.
Here’s how to do it right…
Keep at least one of the layers light.
So, if you’re going for a heavy knit or leather and faux fur vest as your layer, make sure the piece underneath is lightweight AND fitted.
Add a third layer to avoid bulk.
Let’s say you’re doing a button down shirt under a sweater…
Put a very fitted silk like cami between the two layers (so, over top of the button down and underneath the sweater).
It will smooth the look of the button down shirt underneath and prevent it from bunching underneath the sweater.
Ideally, you want two lighter weight tops for this too.
Think beyond the sweater (or vest).
There are LOTS of other ways you can create “layers” in your look without a sweater.
Try layered necklaces, a scarf, or even a pair of boot socks!
There you go – 3 different ways to get your layers on!
Which one are you going to try?
