In a recent blog post, I talked about Giving You Permission to Let it Go and touched upon how motherhood has changed how I dress.
I want to talk about that in more detail though because I work with a lot of Moms in both my one-on-one work and my online Effortless Style Kit program and I often hear the same comments over and over.
I just want to be comfortable, but look “cute” too.
I don’t even know what’s in style anymore!
It’s been so long since I put any effort into getting dressed, I wouldn’t even know where to start.
I want to look put together, but not like I’m trying too hard.
I feel guilty spending money on myself.
Even if you’re not a Mom, I’m willing to bet you’ve uttered at least one of these comments before.
And I TOTALLY get it.
I am a self employed stay at home Mom who is quickly typing this while my Son is preoccupied with watching Paw Patrol.
And after I am done writing this, we have to run out of the house for a play date, followed by some errands.
Then I have to somehow figure out how to squeeze some more work into my day before getting my stepdaughter off to her eye doctor appointment later on.
And I am sure your day is just as busy. We are all busy these days, right?
So yes, I understand how thinking about what to wear and “feeling good” in your clothes can feel like one more thing “to do” on your list. And maybe it’s something that isn’t much of a priority for you.
But I’m here to say it should be.
I have spent just over a year now really trying to focus on more self care and self love for myself, and I am on a bit of a mission to bring other women along for the ride.
And the one way I know I can personally contribute to that area of “showing yourself more love”, is through clothing.
We all know that there is no doubt that what you wear can have a huge impact on how you feel about yourself.
But the truth is, I could care less about the whole “how you dress affects how others perceive you” kind of thing.
I care more about how YOU feel about YOU.
And if you’re feeling a little “blah” because of what you’re wearing, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Sure, it takes a little bit of effort on your part, but I’m here to make it easier for you.
I want to be your Style Guide.
Because you deserve to feel good about how you look.
You can be comfortable AND look cute, it can be easy, and it doesn’t have to cost you a ton of money. #truestory
For example, let’s say you live in your skinny jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers all the time.
By adding just 5 new (but carefully selected) items to your seasonal wardrobe, you can take your look up a notch for less money than you’d expect.
Check out how I used those 5 new pieces and mixed and matched them together (and with the old outfit), to create more than 9 new looks!
You can totally do this too!
Just use this as inspiration to take your style up a notch.
And show yourself some love by investing in yourself and how you feel in your clothing.
Whether it’s $20, $100, or $500.
In fact, I had one Effortless Style Kit participant update her ENTIRE seasonal wardrobe for just over $200!
So I want to ask you…
What is feeling confident in your clothing and never having to worry about “what to wear” worth to you?
Can you put a price on the ability to shop stress free for new clothing?
You are worth more than wearing clothes that don’t fit you anymore, you no longer like, or are worn out and tired looking.
I want you to use the outfit ideas above as inspiration to start to have more fun with your wardrobe and feel good again (or maybe for the first time!) in your clothes.
And if you want some hand holding along the way from myself, as well as the support of an AMAZING group of women JUST LIKE YOU who have decided to show themselves some love in this area, I would LOVE for you to join us in the Effortless Style Kit online group program.
Not only do you get a “done for you” Capsule Wardrobe Planner + more than 100 different head to toe outfit ideas using the pieces listed in your planner, you get that awesome group support mentioned above.
P.S. You’re totally worth it!
